| All is Right with the World Again |
That’s right. I said that wacky vortex we were living in would come to an end on Friday. And Saturday
night’s SportsCenter confirmed my suspicion.
Let’s start with Less…
Remember his pre-season remarks insulting our Pac-10 schedule, wishing he had the same path to the
National Championship game? Well, I doubt he had Kentucky in mind as their big hurdle at the time.
After all, LSU was used to losing to traditional SEC powerhouses like Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and
Georgia these past couple of years. I might just have to wear blue on Monday to celebrate. Hee hee hee.
With the LSU loss, the Pac-10 was at
the top…if only briefly. Congrats to Cal
for that #1 ranking. The one that lasted
a little less than 2 hours. Sorry it didn’t
last long enough to make it into print,
boys.
And then there is South Florida…
What college football fan doesn’t love
their #2 BCS ranking? If there is one
problem with college football, it is the
BCS. I’m cheering for the Bulls this season because this program will pose a bigger threat to the Bowl
Championship Series than an undefeated Auburn getting shut out of the 2005 Orange Bowl. Playoffs,
anyone?
Finally, let’s talk about SC. It may have only been a 20-13 win but it felt like the best win all year. Why?
Because our boys looked *alive*. Even we were still paying attention in the fourth quarter. College
football is all about heart and it looked like our Trojans remembered that on Saturday. We’re proud of
you…and excited going into our favorite game all year.
Speaking of Notre Dame…
We depart early in the week for Chicago and our biggest Extreme Tailgating event all year. For those of
you in the city, you can find us on Rush Street Friday night. And, on Saturday, just look up. We’ve done
cars, limos and trains. This weekend, we take it up a notch as we fly into South Bend on that fleet of SC
helicopters we chartered to get us to campus. Fight on!
