Nebraska Dreams for a Comeback Year RIP
The pictures pretty much tell the story...of the entire weekend.  Because there were Nebraska fans
involved...and at times the police should have been more involved.  And, that's all I am going to say about
that.

The weekend got off to a great start...too great.  I had so much fun at the Weber wedding, the 4:30am
wake up call on Saturday morning so did not happen.  By the time I made it to campus, the sun was on
its way down.  And so was my headache.

So, Serena and I cruised around -- Cardinal and Gold Tailgate, Associates Picnic, random gatherings of
Nebraska fans...until we settled at the Milk Truck.  Now, I had heard of the famous Milk Truck.  I had even
once visited the Milk Truck.  But, I had never really *experienced* the milk truck.  Until Saturday.  And,
that's all I am going to say about that too.

The next thing you know...Serena and I are on LAPD motorcycles.

Thanks to the purse with the secret lining, we got "comfortable" in our seats midway through the first
quarter.  But, we didn't stay there long...the first game is like the first day of school: you have to mingle
and see all your old friends.  So we played musical chairs for the next 2 or so quarters, so we could have
our Romper Room list ready for the Post-game report.  But, we have since forgot who we saw.  Oh well.

We did see our Trojans put to rest any suggestion that the Nebraska football program was on its way
back, beating the no-longer-ranked-nineteenth Cornhuskers 28-10.  The win marked the 28th
consecutive victory at home, i.e. the Trojans haven' t lost in the Coliseum since 2001.  Maybe we should
have mentioned that to the thousands of Nebraska fans before they made the trip.

Defense rocked -- we limited Nebraska to less than 2 yards per rush.  And, our offense didn't show any
signs that we were missing The Big Three.  John David Booty was 25-for-36 for 257 with no interceptions
and three touchdown passes and WR Dwayne Jarrett scored two touchdowns passing Gangsta Mike
Williams to become USC's career touchdown receptions leader with 31.  That guy on ESPN College
Gameday was right when he said, "The best way to defend USC is to get them off your schedule."

After the game Serena and I headed to the 9-0 to make friends with the visiting Huskers.  But,
unfortunately, our olfactory senses were working so we had to get out of there pretty quickly.

Just one problem:  she left the car downtown at the LA Athletic Club.  Another problem:  there are no
available cabs near campus after a football game.  We were left with only one option.  Yes, we stood on
the sidewalk until we found a car heading north that had enough room in the backseat for both of us.
And then we just climbed in.

Now, if only we had a picture of those Nebraska boys when we hopped in their car...

They didn't know what to do.  I almost felt bad for them.  But, not really.

They were headed downtown to the Holiday Inn...of course.  First the Econolodge and now this.  But, we
managed to talk them into taking us all the way to the Athletic Club.  Probably because they were a little
scared.

Serena woke me up when she pulled into my driveway.  I guess.  Because the next thing I knew I woke
up in my bed.  And, I was only missing two pairs of shoes for the day.  And, that is definitely all I am going
to say.
